Fundraising Volunteers

Role Overview

Fundraising Volunteers help ASHA raise the funds needed to support our programs and events. You will assist the Fundraising team led by our VPF - Fundraising & Revenue to run fundraising initiatives such as donation drives, community campaigns, or any other possible fundraisers run by our VPF-FR.

Skills & Qualities

Volunteers should be ensusiastic in their tone of speech with clear and creative communication. Fundraising volunteers should display adequacy with working along others.

Commitment

Participation is flexible. You will be part of ASHA's fundraising volunteer group and notified whenever opportunities arise. Attendance is not required for every single fundraiser - volunteers can sign up based on their availability. However, we strongly encourage consistency and active participation for our mission. Please do not sign up if you do not plan to participate at all, as we value genuine commitment over mere titles.

Companionship Program Volunteers

Program Overview

The Companionship Program connects volunteers with seniors in long-term care and retirement communities through our partnerships with local senior homes. The goal is to reduce social isolation and support overall well-being by providing meaningful conversation, emotional support, and engaging activities.
Volunteers will take part in weekend visits which will be supervised and led by two ASHA execs. During these visits they may spend time chatting, playing games, sharing stories, or simply offering a friendly presence to senior people. Each visit will be expected to be an hour or less long. ASHA will help to build connections between seniors and volunteers. We hope this program can be comforting and enjoyable for both senior people and volunteers.

Skills & Qualities

Volunteers apart of this program should display qualities in kindness, patience, and empathy. Showing professionalism and respect for confidentiality and sensitivity of diverse backgrounds. Be a good listener and conversationalist, be a reliable shoulder to lean on.

Commitment

Regular weekly or bi-weekly commitment.

Event Volunteers

Role Overview

Event Volunteers support ASHA's special events and activities, such as workshops, lectures, health-awareness events, etc. The roles and responsibilities can be various. However workloads are not very demanding (e.g. giving out beverages during a lecture, handing out materials at an elementary school workshop).

Skills & Qualities

Event volunteers should be friendly and approachable with a willingness to pitch in and adapt as needed. Show good team spirit and be someone who could be relied on.

Commitment
